New Mexico

Whilst in Denver, a retired hot rod enthusiast recommended driving through Taos before entering Santa Fe. We’ve taken his words and routed our trip to Taos Pueblo as our first stop in New Mexico. The Pueblo is known for the historic adobe buildings & the beautiful Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. Just right outside Taos, there is a sustainable living community that goes by the name Earthship Biotecture. Residents of this community believes in sustainable living, design and construction. After exploring the unique structures, we returned to Main Street Taos, a festive community with many Native American galleries and museums. As we drove further south, the heat became intense, so sleeping in the window-less bus was not the best condition. Next stop was Santa Fe, a community with an artsy downtown. It was a bit slow paced on a Thursday night so we headed to one of our top destination just outside of the area called Meow Wolf. MF is an explorable immersive art exhibition collaborated by over 100 local artists. The experience was definitely one of the most unique & memorable one we’ve been so far.

As we exited Santa Fe, we made a quick stop in Downtown Albuquerque to check out some car shows and some local brewery. We also explored the night life during the weekend of PRIDE parade and we were intrigue with the diversity of the crowd. Before leaving New Mexico, we made two more stops in Roswell and Carlsbad Caverns National Park to see underground caverns.
